Craster Coastal Rowing Club

27th September 2024

We recently popped down to the Craster Coastal Rowing Club end-of-summer coffee morning to deliver two brand new junior lifejackets, following a special request from club founder Amy Fettis. The Northumberland based club was originally set up as a fantastic community project designed to boost local mental health, well-being, and fitness by making rowing accessible to people of all ages.

The club features two custom, hand-built Skiff design boats proudly named 'The Craster Kipper' and 'The Jolly Fisherman' which accommodate four rowers and a coxswain.

"Craster Coastal Rowing Club was established two years ago as a community project," said Club Captain John Francis. "It's a community club that's very proud of its aspirations to cater for all rowing needs, from young people to older folk. We now have two brand new, really high quality lifejackets to add to our collection. We’re incredibly grateful to Alncom, and it will spur us on to get more young people involved with the club."

At Alncom, we are passionate about supporting rural community initiatives and youth sports safety across the region. Check out our local rowers in action in the photos and video below!
