Are you protected against cyber-attacks?

July 20, 2020

Twitter suffered one of the biggest cyber-attacks in history last week.

Several high-profile Twitter accounts, including Bill Gates, Apple, Uber, and Elon Musk, were breached simultaneously promoting a cryptocurrency scam urging millions of followers to send money and in return offering a larger payback.

Twitter has stated it was a “coordinated social engineering attack” against its employees, ultimately providing the scammer’s access to internal systems and tools to carry out this attack.

Social Engineering attacks are most commonly based on so-called “phishing emails” designed to fool employees into divulging login credentials for company accounts, something that all businesses need to be aware of and defend against. The best method of doing this is via cyber-awareness training for staff.
